Pooja Hegde Gears Up for ‘Retro’ with Suriya and Eyes Reunion with Allu Arjun

As Pooja Hegde prepares for the release of ‘Retro’, she hints at a potential collaboration with Allu Arjun and joins Varun Dhawan in David Dhawan’s upcoming Bollywood rom-com.

Pooja Hegde is set to make a significant return to Tamil cinema with Retro, a romantic action film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The movie, previously known as Suriya 44, features Suriya and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. The ensemble cast includes Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, and Singampuli .

In a recent interview with Great Andhra, Pooja was asked about the possibility of reuniting with Allu Arjun, her co-star from DJ Duvvada Jagannadham and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. She responded, “If there’s a good story, good characters, and if it fits right, then we’ll do it” .​

Beyond Retro, Pooja Hegde is also set to star in the Bollywood film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan. The film features Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Mouni Roy, with shooting schedules planned in Rishikesh and Scotland .​

Retro is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2025 .​
