Mukesh Chhabra’s Unique Perspective on Raavan in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana
Casting Director Emphasizes Love and Vengeance in the Epic Tale

Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director behind the upcoming Nitesh Tiwari-directed Ramayana, has offered a fresh take on the iconic villain, Raavan. In a recent interview, Chhabra shared his belief that Raavan was motivated by love as much as by revenge.
The upcoming film, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role, has been generating significant buzz in the Indian film industry. Chhabra, along with actor Ranveer Allahbadia, discussed the movie and their interpretations of the characters during the interview.
When asked about his perspective on Raavan, Chhabra stated, “He was in love, wasn’t he? He sought revenge, but he was also deeply in love. As far as I understand, Raavan was evil and vengeful, but his revenge was driven by love for his sister. Both Ram and Raavan were right in their own ways.”

Chhabra’s comments have sparked discussions about the complexities of the Ramayana narrative and the motivations of its characters. While acknowledging the sensitive nature of the topic in today’s India, Chhabra expressed his fear of discussing the epic in the current climate.
As fans eagerly await the release of the film, there has been much speculation about Kapoor’s preparation for the role. Recent images of the actor with his archery instructor have fueled excitement and anticipation among his followers.
