“Mrs.” – A Flavorful Tale of Resilience and Empowerment Set to Premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival

In an enticing Wednesday afternoon revelation, the teaser for “Mrs.” was unveiled, serving as a delectable blend of emotions reminiscent of a flawless dish. Adapted from the acclaimed Malayalam film “The Great Indian Kitchen,” the Hindi version introduces Sanya Malhotra, whose profound connection to food takes center stage in the teaser.

The narrative unfolds around a newlywed woman, portrayed by Sanya Malhotra, who tirelessly endeavors to support her father-in-law (Kanwaljit Singh) and a challenging husband (Nishant Dahiya). Yet, her efforts are seemingly never sufficient, portraying the struggles of a typical day in her household. Whether it’s complaints about insufficiently hot phulkas, lessons on biryani preparation, or admonitions to “follow rules,” the teaser hints at her journey in overcoming daily obstacles, including patriarchy, to carve out a happy life.

Taking to social media, Sanya Malhotra shared the teaser, declaring, “All set to inspire, move, and spark conversations about the challenges and triumphs faced by women globally at the world stage!” The announcement revealed that “Mrs.” is scheduled for its World Premiere at the Talinn Black Nights Film Festival on November 17. The film has also been selected for the Critics’ Pick Competition category at the festival.

Directed by Arati Kadav, “Mrs.” promises a powerful narrative of strength and resilience. Jyoti Deshpande, Pammi Baweja, and Harman Baweja are the creative minds behind the film, presented by Jio Studios in collaboration with Baweja Studios. The eagerly awaited premiere is set to captivate audiences at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, where “Mrs.” will also compete in the prestigious Critics’ Pick Competition.
