Kim Kardashian to Star in Netflix’s ‘The Fifth Wheel’ Directed by Eva Longoria
The reality star joins forces with comedy veterans Paula Pell and Janine Brito in a female-led ensemble film, marking her first major feature role.

Netflix has secured the rights to The Fifth Wheel, an upcoming comedy film starring Kim Kardashian, following a competitive bidding war involving multiple major studios and streaming platforms. The film is co-written by Paula Pell, known for her work on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, and Janine Brito, a writer and comedian with credits including Mr. Mayor.
Eva Longoria is set to direct the project, bringing her experience from her directorial debut Flamin’ Hot, which received acclaim at SXSW 2023. Longoria will also produce the film through her Hyphenate Media Group, alongside Gloria Sanchez Productions, led by Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, The Fifth Wheel is described as a female-driven ensemble comedy, with Kardashian playing the titular “fifth wheel” character. The film marks Kardashian’s first leading role in a feature film, following her recent performances in American Horror Story: Delicate and voice work in the PAW Patrol movies.
Production and release dates for The Fifth Wheel have not yet been announced. The film is part of Netflix’s strategy to expand its mid-budget film offerings, focusing on projects with strong female leads and creative teams.
