Karan Johar Breaks Silence on Ranbir-Ranveer Rivalry Rumors and Reunion with Kartik Aaryan

The filmmaker dismisses ego clash speculations, calls Bollywood a “family,” and opens up on mending ties with Kartik Aaryan for their next romantic drama.

Bollywood has long been buzzing with speculation about an alleged ego clash between two of its most adored stars—Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. However, filmmaker Karan Johar has finally set the record straight. In a candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Karan dismissed all rumors, calling them outdated and irrelevant in today’s context.

“Everyone is very understanding of each other. There’s no ego involved—those notions are from a very old school of thought,” Karan explained, adding that the industry today is more collaborative than competitive. Sharing personal anecdotes, he revealed that Ranveer visited him after watching Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to share his thoughts, while Ranbir offered heartfelt feedback on Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. “I think we’re all friends before anything else,” Karan said, reflecting on the healthy dynamic between the two actors.

He also gave a glimpse into his personal rapport with Ranbir and Ranveer, speaking of casual hangouts, shopping sprees, and deep conversations about life, love, and everything in between.

But that’s not all—Karan also addressed another much-talked-about relationship: his equation with actor Kartik Aaryan. After an apparent fallout, the two are reuniting for a romantic drama titled Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans.

Speaking on this professional comeback, Karan said, “We sat down, discussed it internally, and moved on. We let bygones be bygones.” He described Kartik as a dedicated actor with a massive fan base, emphasizing that disagreements are part of the creative process. “It’s a small industry—like a family. Gile shikwe ho jaate hain, but eventually, good people come together to make good cinema.”

For Karan, the focus remains on the bigger picture—telling compelling stories and collaborating with passionate individuals, regardless of past misunderstandings.
