Kangana Ranaut, widely adored for her roles in “Tanu Weds Manu” (2011) and its sequel “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” (2015), has sent shockwaves through the film industry by confirming the production of a third installment in the series. In a recent interview with IMDb, the talented actress shared this exciting news alongside details of her other upcoming projects.
In her conversation with IMDb, Kangana Ranaut disclosed her busy schedule, saying, “I am embarking on a thrilling journey with Vijay Sethupathi, and I’m also working on two other films – ‘Noti Binodini’ and the unexpected return of ‘Tanu Weds Manu 3.'”
This revelation about “Tanu Weds Manu 3” comes as a surprise since the film’s director, Aanand L. Rai, had vehemently denied any plans for a third installment in the past. Rai had once stated, “I won’t make a third part just because it is a brand, or because it will work. Do not approach it as a series. There isn’t a part three yet. For the time being, I believe I am done with the characters.”
Furthermore, R Madhavan, who played a significant role in the previous movies, had been outspoken about his belief that a third part was unlikely to materialize. He expressed, “I think that’s water under the bridge. There is no point in beating a dead horse… You know, it’s so difficult to come up with original stuff, and then there are expectations of a film. See, if it’s a sequel to Avengers or a superhero series, it’s easier because you have a template. But with Tanu Weds Manu, it’s impossible. And I think I am done with it. I don’t want to go back to being Manu now,” in an interview with YouTuber Jaby Koey last year.
