Jerry Bruckheimer on why Top Gun Maverick toppled Avengers

A non-superhero movie is finally dominating the global box office. Tom Cruise’s action-packed follow-up to his 1986 cult hit, Top Gun: Maverick, has earned the most money this year thus far. The movie’s success ends a stretch of several years in which Marvel or DC movies dominated the box office in each of those years. Despite the fact that both studios released successful movies this year, Top Gun Maverick outperformed them all. Producer of the movie Jerry Bruckheimer has recently disclosed how it accomplished that.

Producer Jerry Bruckhemier explained that the reason viewers liked Maverick over superhero movies was because of the realistic, realistic battle scenes in the movie. Jerry uttered, “I think audiences have been seeing so much CGI, which is wonderful, I go see the same movies, but it’s also nice to see the real deal, and to be part of a camaraderie of characters that get up in the sky and have to be as good as they can be.”
