Jake Gyllenhaa excited about ‘Strange World’

According to its star Jake Gyllenhaal, Disney’s newest animated picture “Strange World” is an action-adventure movie with a core message about family.
Gyllenhaal plays Searcher Clade, a farmer who chose a radically different route for himself despite growing up in the shadow of his legendary explorer father. Now a father himself, an environmental emergency imperilling his crops forces Searcher to set out on a mission in a remote, foreign land.

At the film’s London premiere, Gyllenhaal told Reuters, “The themes that struck with me the most were communication and family, how generations feel like they know more than the one before and the one after. “I think we can truly learn from each other when we are vulnerable and open out. Although it seems like a fairly straightforward concept, family makes it extremely complicated.”
