Iconic Orgasm Scene from ‘When Harry Met Sally’ Gets a Hilarious Reaction from Meg Ryan’s Kids!
Meg Ryan’s unforgettable performance in the 1989 classic, “When Harry Met Sally,” left an indelible mark on cinema history with her iconic fake orgasm scene at Katz’s Deli. But what do her own kids, Daisy True Ryan and Jack Quaid, think of this legendary cinematic moment? In a candid conversation with comedy legend Carol Burnett for Interview magazine, Meg Ryan shared her children’s rather unique take on her famous scene.
During the interview, Ryan recounted a recent phone call from her son, who happened to be staying in a hotel right across the street from Katz’s Deli in New York. “My son just called me this morning,” she revealed, “and he’s in New York staying at a hotel that’s right across the street from Katz’s Deli. My daughter was here, and everybody was on speaker, and they were like, ‘Mom, this is a very unique embarrassment.'”
Ryan’s son went a step further, adding an amusing twist to the tale. “He said, ‘You know you can go into that deli and there’s an arrow pointing down to the table where you shot that scene,'” Ryan laughed.
Jack Quaid, the star of “The Boys,” has been refreshingly candid about his feelings regarding his mother’s famous orgasmic display. In a previous interview from 2018, he shared his thoughts on finally watching the romantic comedy that catapulted his mother to fame.
“Guys, when your mother has one of the most famous orgasm scenes of all time, you do not jump to the film, okay?” Quaid humorously pointed out during a panel discussion for EW. “I saw it because I was doing a rom-com, and that’s like the rom-com. And I watched it, and then afterwards I cried for so long because I was so proud of her, and I immediately called her, and I’m like, ‘I’m so sorry I missed this movie.’ She’s like, ‘I’ve seen it like one time.’ Anyway, that’s my favorite of hers.”
It seems that even for the children of a Hollywood icon, the famous fake orgasm scene remains a unique and amusing part of their family legacy.
