BLACK ADAM not to be part of the future DC Universe

Dwayne Johnson took to social media to confirm long predicted rumours that his potrayal of Black Adam in the DCEU will not be part of the DC Universe going forward. The actor said on his Twitter account that discussions with James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios were engaging and even though Black Adam did not feature in the immediate plans of DC , scenarios to feature the character in the DC multiverse.

This news hardly comes as a surprise given the fact that DC Studios is rebooting their universe and moving on from the Zack Snyder Verse. Even though Black Adam was not technically a part of that universe but the fact that Henry Cavill’s Superman made an appearance in the movie, inexplicably made it a part of the Zack Snyder Universe.

Another thing that did not help was the box office returns of the movie. The potential loss for the movie is estimated to be about $1oo million. Would Black Adam have been a part of the future had the movie turned a profit is highly doubtful but that is all speculation at this point.

James Gunn was similary positive in his response to this tweet. He said that he cannot wait to colloborate with Dwayne Johnson and his production house Seven Bucks. It is clear that Gunn and DC Studios want nothing to do with the past but Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest superstars

James Gunn has been a busy man both on and off social media. Will rebooting save the floundering DC Cinematic Universe is a question no can really answer. James Gunn and Peter Safran are making bold moves and just like Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson is just a casualty along the way.
