‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Specials set Disney+ Premiere Dates

The premiere dates for specials observing Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary have been announced.

The three specials, which will star David Tennant as the Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Temple-Noble, will be released across three weeks starting November 25, 2023, which is two days following the actual 60th anniversary of Doctor Who’s debut episode.

The specials will be available internationally on Disney+, which acquired streaming rights to the series in 2022, other than the United Kingdom and Ireland, where they will premiere on the BBC.

After an initial trailer in September, Disney+ has also dropped a new exclusive trailer for the specials, which features Tennant reuniting with Donna in the specials to confront the Toymaker.

Jacqueline King, Karl Collins, and Jemma Redgrave will also be seen from previous seasons, along with Yasmin Finney, Miriam Margolyes, and Ruth Madeley.

The first special, titled ‘The Star Beast,’ will debut on November 25, 2023, followed by ‘Wild Blue Yonder’ on December 2, 2023 and ‘The Giggle’ on December 9, 2023. The forthcoming season of ‘Doctor Who’ is slated to be released in 2024.
