The ‘Friends’ star shares how her connection with Perry remains strong after his passing

Courteney Cox has opened up about the enduring bond she shares with her late Friends co-star, Matthew Perry, even after his death.

In an interview for CBS Sunday Morning, Cox reflected on the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Friends premiere in 2024. She reminisced about the 10 years she spent on the iconic NBC sitcom, describing her co-stars as her “family” as they navigated through everything together.

Speaking fondly of Perry, Cox said, “I think he’s one of the funniest human beings in the world. He’s just so funny. He’s genuinely got a huge heart. He obviously struggled.”

The actress expressed her gratitude for the years she worked closely with Perry and revealed that she feels a continued connection with his spirit.

“He visits me a lot, if we believe in that,” she shared. “I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that guide us.” Cox added that she definitely senses Perry’s spirit around her.

Perry passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54 from the acute effects of anesthetic ketamine. Weeks after his death, Cox wrote a heartfelt tribute on social media, reminiscing about their long-lasting friendship.

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you, Matty, and I miss you every day,” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post.
