Amy Adams Set to Shine in “At the Sea”: A Tale of Redemption and Reflection

Award-winning Actress Joins Forces with Esteemed Filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó in Latest Drama Venture

Acclaimed actress Amy Adams is poised to grace the silver screen once again, this time in the upcoming drama “At the Sea,” helmed by renowned Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó, best known for his captivating works “Pieces of a Woman” and “White God.”

Teaming up once more with Mundruczó is Kata Wéber, the talented screenwriter behind the critically acclaimed scripts of “Pieces of a Woman” and “White God,” ensuring a potent blend of storytelling prowess for this latest cinematic endeavor.

The production of “At the Sea” boasts an impressive lineup of industry heavyweights, including Alexander Rodnyansky from AR Content, Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett from Ryder Picture Company, and Alex Lebovici and Jon Oakes from Hammerstone Studios, among others. Stuart Manashil and Viktória Petrányi, who played integral roles in the success of “Pieces of a Woman,” are also onboard as producers, alongside Mundruczó.

The narrative of “At the Sea” delves into the journey of a woman navigating the complexities of life after a prolonged period of rehabilitation. Returning to her family’s seaside retreat, she confronts the challenges of reintegration into the world she once knew, now devoid of the career that defined her identity.

Principal photography for the film is slated to commence in June in the picturesque setting of Boston, promising captivating visuals to complement the emotionally charged narrative.

Backing the project are AR Content, Paul J. Diaz, and Hammerstone Studios, with WME Independent handling U.S. distribution rights and Capstone Pictures overseeing international distribution.

The executive producing team includes Paul J. Diaz, Maria Breese, Lee Broda, Jeff Rice, and Michael Kupisk, with Zsofi Oblath and Rachel Rubin serving as co-producers.

Adams, a luminary of the silver screen with six Academy Award nominations to her name, adds “At the Sea” to her illustrious repertoire, following her recent appearances in “Disenchanted” and “Dear Evan Hansen.” She is also set to star in Searchlight Pictures’ “Nightbitch” and Taika Waititi’s “Klara and the Sun.”

Mundruczó and Wéber’s previous collaborations have garnered critical acclaim, with “White God” securing the Un Certain Regard Prize at Cannes in 2014, and “Pieces of a Woman” earning Vanessa Kirby an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
