Wellington

Te Papa Tongarewa

Te Papa Tongarewa is the national museum of New Zealand, located in Wellington. The name Te Papa Tongarewa means “container of treasures” in the Maori language, reflecting the museum’s collections and role in preserving and showcasing New Zealand’s cultural and natural heritage.

The museum’s exhibitions cover a wide range of topics, including the history of New Zealand, its people, art, culture, and environment. There are interactive displays, hands-on activities, and multimedia exhibits that engage visitors of all ages.

Wellington Cable Car

The Wellington Cable Car is a popular attraction for both tourists and locals and is a great way to get a unique perspective on the city while enjoying a fun and historic mode of transport.

The cable car operates every 10 minutes during the day and offers a scenic and fun way to travel up to the top of the hill overlooking the city.

The ride takes approximately 5 minutes and covers a distance of 612 meters, with a vertical rise of 120 meters. The cable car features two wooden carriages, each with a capacity of 100 passengers, and offers stunning views over the city and harbor along the way.

Mount Victoria Lookout

Mount Victoria Lookout is a scenic viewpoint located in the eastern suburb of Wellington, New Zealand. It is situated on the top of Mount Victoria, which stands at a height of 196 meters above sea level.

The lookout offers stunning panoramic views over the city and the surrounding area, including the harbor, central business district, and the surrounding hills.

To get to the Mount Victoria Lookout, visitors can walk up the hill through a beautiful forested area or drive up to the car park at the top.

Botanic Garden

It is situated on the slopes of a hill overlooking the city and covers an area of 25 hectares. The Botanic Garden features a wide variety of plants and flowers from around the world, including native New Zealand species, tropical plants, and rare and endangered species.

There are also several walking trails that wind through the garden, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of the flora and fauna.
