PLOT

Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is taking into account the results of his decisions as a parent and a superhero. Lang must once more put on the Ant-Man suit and battle with the Wasp after being approached by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) .

The dynamic combination finds themselves in an epic struggle against a formidable new foe due to the urgent task, which quickly leads to the last secrets being revealed. Even though it only lasts 125 minutes, the middle part looks tedious. Fortunately, the final battle is somewhat exciting.

REVIEW

Jeff Loveness’s story is both fascinating and significant to the Marvel Cinematic Universe because it marks a fresh start and the appearance of a potent new antagonist. The screenplay by Jeff Loveness is only passable, though. The dialogue is excellent, although one regrets the frequent humorous one-liners present in the earlier ANT-MAN movies.

The direction of Peyton Reed is appropriate. It’s remarkable to watch how he depicted the universe of the Quantum Realm and how masterfully he handled the magnitude. Yet, unlike the previous Marvel movies, the first half and the scenes leading up to the pre-climax in the second half are dull. This is due to the “been there, done that” vibe it creates, especially in action scenes.

Paul Rudd gives a terrific performance, as usual. As Paul has fantastic comic timing, it is disappointing that his character’s humorous side is not more prominently displayed this time. Kathryn Newton shows a confident demeanour. Michael Douglas is trustworthy, as one would expect. Evangeline Lilly only has a small role, but Michelle Pfeiffer is excellent.

Massive traces of Katy O’Brian remain. In a cameo, Bill Murray is fantastic. Although having an intriguing role, William Jackson Harper is absent in the movie. In contrast to David Dastmalchian, Corey Stoll is irritating.

Rating – Two and a half out of five stars.
