Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan Relive Their Wild “Ishq” Days with Hilarious Behind-the-Scenes Memories

At a recent event, the stars of the classic 1997 hit “Ishq” recounted a chaotic on-set moment that had Aamir running for cover and Ajay’s action skills saving the day.

In Bollywood’s beloved 1997 comedy Ishq, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan’s onscreen bromance left fans in stitches—and their behind-the-scenes antics were just as unforgettable. The duo recently reunited for the muhurat ceremony of Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Milap Zaveri’s new film introducing filmmaker Indra Kumar’s son, Aman. During the event, they took a nostalgic trip back to their Ishq days, sharing an unexpected story that still has them—and their fans—laughing.

As Aamir recalled, a surprising encounter with a chimpanzee almost turned disastrous during the filming. In true Ishq style, Aamir admitted he’d accidentally provoked the animal by spraying it with water, causing the chimp to go on the offensive. Ajay couldn’t resist chiming in, jokingly reminding Aamir that it was his own antics that led to him sprinting around the set, screaming, “Bachao Bachao!” In the end, it was Ajay’s action-star reflexes that came to the rescue. “Ajay saved me by pulling me out of a moving car,” Aamir laughed.

The actors expressed their deep admiration for each other, with Aamir describing Ajay as a close friend he cherishes every time they meet, despite their busy schedules. Ajay agreed, hinting that they “should definitely do another one,” sparking excitement among fans about a potential Ishq sequel.

On the professional front, Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha and is gearing up for Sitaare Zameen Par alongside Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh. Ajay, meanwhile, will soon return in Rohit Shetty’s star-studded Singham Again.
